This role extends well beyond commercial leadership. It requires an executive capable of shaping business direction, strengthening strategic customer partnerships, influencing technology and investment decisions, and creating sustainable value across an international portfolio.
Working closely with the executive leadership team, this individual will provide the vision and leadership required to position the business for long-term success while maintaining operational discipline and commercial excellence.
Role Overview
The General Manager will be responsible for leading an international business serving the global energy industry, with accountability for overall business performance, market expansion, customer engagement, portfolio development, and organizational leadership.
Success will be measured by the ability to strengthen customer confidence, identify new avenues for growth, improve business performance, and lead diverse global teams through an increasingly dynamic energy landscape.
Key Accountabilities
Strategic Business Direction
Define the long-term direction of the business by anticipating industry trends, customer requirements, and competitive developments.
Translate corporate objectives into actionable business strategies that deliver sustainable growth and long-term profitability.
Drive business priorities that strengthen market position while maintaining financial discipline.
Market & Customer Engagement
Establish trusted partnerships with senior executives across international energy companies, EPC organizations, industrial operators, and strategic business partners.
Act as the executive sponsor for key customer relationships and major commercial opportunities.
Represent the organization in strategic negotiations, industry forums, and executive-level customer discussions.
Expand the business through new market opportunities, strategic collaborations, and value-driven commercial initiatives.
Portfolio Leadership
Guide investment priorities across the business portfolio, ensuring solutions remain aligned with customer needs and evolving industry requirements.
Work alongside engineering, technology, operations, and commercial leaders to translate market intelligence into future business opportunities.
Encourage innovation that enhances customer value while supporting sustainable commercial outcomes.
Operational & Enterprise Leadership
Create strong alignment between commercial, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and service organizations to deliver consistent business performance.
Promote operational excellence through disciplined execution, effective resource allocation, and continuous improvement.
Support a culture that balances customer focus with operational efficiency and financial performance.
People & Culture
Build and develop a globally connected leadership team capable of operating across diverse markets and cultures.

Executive Experience:
Leadership experience within the oil & gas, energy technology, industrial equipment, process industries, industrial automation, power generation, or engineered manufacturing sectors.
Responsibility for managing international business operations with accountability for commercial outcomes and financial performance.
Experience leading organizations operating across multiple geographic regions and cultural environments.
Significant business and commercial experience across European markets is highly desirable.
A track record of managing strategic customer relationships involving complex, long-cycle business opportunities.
Strong exposure to technically sophisticated products, engineered systems, or industrial technologies.
Experience working collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and commercial functions.
Proven ability to lead businesses through periods of market change while maintaining long-term strategic focus.
