About the Opportunity
Board Match-Up is partnering with a leading industrial manufacturing organization serving the global energy and oilfield equipment sector. As the business continues to strengthen its operational excellence and supplier ecosystem, it is seeking an experienced Fractional Strategic Advisor to work directly with the CEO and leadership team.
This is an ideal opportunity for a senior executive who has built a successful corporate career and is now looking to contribute in a high-impact interim capacity. The mandate is not to manage a large team, but to act as the CEO’s strategic right hand—bringing deep expertise in supplier quality, manufacturing, procurement, and supply chain governance while remaining hands-on in execution.
The assignment offers significant visibility with executive leadership and the opportunity to leave behind a sustainable operating framework that will continue long after the engagement.

Over six months, the advisor will help the organization build a stronger, more resilient supplier ecosystem by combining strategic thinking with operational execution.
Key outcomes include:
Assess and strengthen the supplier quality landscape across strategic suppliers.
Develop a robust supplier qualification, audit, and performance management framework.
Establish supplier risk governance, scorecards, and escalation mechanisms.
Improve collaboration across Procurement, Engineering, Operations, and Quality.
Build repeatable processes that enhance quality, reliability, and supply chain resilience.

Provide an independent executive perspective on critical supplier decisions and improvement priorities.
Translate complex operational challenges into practical, scalable solutions.
Supplier Excellence & Operational Improvement
Evaluate the capability and maturity of key suppliers across manufacturing, quality systems, and operational controls.
Lead supplier audits and capability assessments across regional manufacturing sites.
Drive corrective action plans and supplier development initiatives through to implementation.
Quality, Risk & Governance
Design and implement supplier qualification frameworks, performance scorecards, and risk registers.
Strengthen governance around supplier selection, onboarding, monitoring, and escalation.
Ensure alignment with internationally recognized quality standards and customer expectations within industrial manufacturing environments.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, and Quality leaders.
Facilitate alignment across functions to improve supplier decision-making and execution.
Coach internal stakeholders and transfer knowledge to ensure long-term capability.
Candidate Ideal Profile:
20+ years of leadership experience within industrial manufacturing, oil & gas, energy, engineering, aerospace, or heavy equipment sectors.
Deep expertise in supplier quality, manufacturing excellence, procurement, and supply chain operations.
Experience working with global supplier networks across Asia and the Middle East.
Strong knowledge of quality and compliance frameworks (API, ISO, supplier audit methodologies, and operational governance).
A hands-on, pragmatic leadership style with the ability to influence without formal authority.
