Board Match-Up is partnering with a global organization operating in the sustainability and environmental impact space that is expanding its presence and initiatives in India.
The organization focuses on environmental sustainability, industry collaboration, and scalable impact initiatives, partnering with ecosystem stakeholders to advance sustainable solutions.
As part of its growth in India, the organization is seeking to appoint a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will serve as a senior strategic leader responsible for building and guiding the financial architecture of the India platform.
This role requires a finance leader who brings experience across both mission-driven/non-profit environments and commercial organizations, enabling the organization to combine strong financial stewardship with operational scale and strategic impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership
Serve as a strategic advisor to the leadership team on financial planning, resource allocation, and long-term sustainability.
Shape the financial strategy to support the organization’s mission, partnerships, and programmatic growth.
Provide financial insights that inform strategic decisions and enable responsible scaling of initiatives.
Financial Governance & Architecture
Establish and oversee strong financial governance frameworks, ensuring transparency, accountability, and operational discipline.
Develop robust financial planning, budgeting, and reporting systems aligned with organizational priorities.
Ensure effective financial oversight across programs, partnerships, and operational activities.
Organizational Scaling & Capability Building
Design and implement scalable financial processes and systems to support the organization’s growth and evolving initiatives.
Strengthen financial operations, internal controls, and reporting structures to meet global standards of governance and accountability.
Stakeholder & Partnership Engagement
Partner with senior leadership, ecosystem collaborators, and funding partners to support financial planning and stewardship of resources.
Provide financial perspectives to support partnerships, collaborative initiatives, and strategic programs in the sustainability ecosystem.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure adherence to regulatory and statutory requirements applicable to mission-driven organizations operating in India.
Oversee financial compliance, audit processes, and risk management frameworks.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional qualification.
15–20+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including senior leadership roles.
Demonstrated experience across both for-profit enterprises and non-profit or mission-driven organizations.
Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and financial management in complex or multi-stakeholder environments.
Experience in establishing or overseeing shared services functions, particularly in finance or corporate support operations, will be an advantage.
Experience in building or scaling financial functions and operating frameworks.
Exposure to sustainability, environmental impact, or mission-driven sectors is highly valued.
